Echo's News

Posted by Echo - May 21st, 2013

So, I've been meaning to launch my own website for quite a while now, and it's finally happened! Created in the wix.com HTML 5 editor, the website features a list of all my musical works, as well as links to buy them from Bandcamp. It also provides a way for anyone who wishes to contact me, to do so easily and quickly, and also a News section that will let you stay more up to date with what's going on!

For the moment, the domain isn't all that simple to remember, because I haven't gotten round to buying one of my own yet, but it'll do to be going on with! You can check it out here. Feel free to donate, buy or download my music, and share the website with your friends! It'd be much appreciated!

Website launched!

My orchestral EP, Wings, is now finally ready and available for purchase on Bandcamp!

An EP? What's that?
An EP (Extended Play) is a musical recording that contains more music than a single, but is too short to qualify as a full studio album. In Layman's terms: Not quite an album, but not quite a single either.

Tell me more!
Wings is a continuous play album, even though Bandcamp doesn't let you play it continuously from start to finish, and has 4 tracks - The Call, Flight, Cloud Runner and Return. It is one of my largest projects to date, and took about 60 hours of production time, a couple hundred patterns, no small amount of coffee, and performance enhancing drugs. The genre is orchestral soundtrack with an adventure theme, something which I haven't delved into all that much before, but which turned out pretty well if I say so myself.

Can I listen to the EP beforehand?
Of course! You can listen to snippets of the EP on Newgrounds:

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/530697?up dated=1

Or alternatively, you can also preview the tracks on Soundcloud (which actually supports continuous play) and on Bandcamp before making your purchase.

So, how much does it cost?
The EP costs $3.99 on Bandcamp, but you can pay more if you're feeling generous! Bandcamp offers you a full array of formats to download, including lossless.

Can I buy a track separately?
Sure thing, even though I wouldn't exactly recommend it due to the continuous nature of the EP, meaning that each track won't make much sense on its own. Here is the full track list with links to the separate sections of the EP:

1. The Call
2. Flight
3. Cloud Runner
4. Return

Remember, you can preview each track before you buy it!

On a final note, if you're interested further in my work, why not check me out on Facebook, Soundcloud, or even here on Newgrounds. I always appreciate feedback of any sort!

GREAT NEWS!

Yeah, that's right. It's news. And it's great. Deal with it.

So basically, I placed first in the Halloween Spooktacular Audio Contest! I have no idea how the hell this happened, but I'll take it. Go give the track a listen! Also listen to the other winners, they deserve it!

Thanks to everyone who supported me, gave me feedback and generally helped in any way possible. Thank you guiz :3

Also, check out my upcoming album. It's a work in progress, but it's coming along nicely :D

So as you can see by my user icon, I've got myself a new logo, which I have to admit, looks pretty darn cool. Thanks go to a friend of mine for designing the concept, after which I translated the sketches into a vector image on the PC.

Also, I've got myself a SoundCloud Account (link's in the sidebar to the left) where I should be uploading some music.

I'm also currently working on creating Music Videos with visualizations for my YouTube account, so I can start updating it again. We'll see how that goes I guess...

So in four hours the redesign shall be upon us and this version of Newgrounds will go away for ever.

It shall be missed. For a while. Then promptly forgotten.

Thank you Oldgrounds.

Babai now.

So now that the NGADM is finally over, after months of hard work, I find myself once again swamped under lots of work due to personal projects.

Firstly, I'm in the process of creating my first ever Album, entitled "Eye of the Dragon" which will have a total of 11 tracks, with some bonus tracks for Bandcamp Buyers. Work on the album is going quite well, with 2 tracks already mostly finished and more already in progress. I've also got my hands on a talented artist who I will not reveal for now.

In other news, I've also joined a music production company that goes by the name Logical Defiance Productions, where i have joined a talented team of composers who I look forward to working with in the future.

Besides this, I've also been featured as composer in a Refab advertisement produced in my own country. Check it out!

So thats it for now! To keep updated with my progress, be sure to check my Facebook page for updates! Thanks :D

They're split into neat categories and all so you shouldn't find it too confusing ;)

The NGADM is still going strong, with auditions still coming in and stuff. Seems to be doing well, with store credit being approved as prizes for the winners and Tom featuring it on the Frontpage.

I have just bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 448 Headphones for professional composition. They should remove the annoying habit that my current headphones have of amplifying the bass too much, thus resulting in an unbalanced song. They still have to arrive though, and the shipping time is annoyingly long >.>

Well that's it for now, thanks for reading, hope the list helps ;)
