Decent work!

Well, its a very ambientish DnB. Amazing synth work and the drums are great. Voices are nicely recorded and coudl be heard clearly. Those are a nice touch btw. Ncie poem at the beginning too. Bass however, is sadly lacking. There's only one bass and its a bit repetitive. Its also too damn short. However, given the short amount of time you had, i wont reduce ur points too much for that.

and i agree with everything :)

Not bad...

well, There's basically no semblance of a melody here, chord progressions are repetitive and the voice is barely comprehensible. Drums are the only thing which make any sense in this. Id suggest u put some more work in this, it could definetely do with some kind of melody and the voice needs to be able to be heard by the listener, and more understandable. Superb lyrics though, that got ur score up quite a bit.

Indeed it always is good to have more reviews.

I actually just fixed the problems at hand with this song today, I haven't uploaded it yet, though.
It was hard to hear a melody of any sorts because I had 4 sets of guitar, and 2 of them blocked out almost all the other tracks, so I got rid of those 2.
Believe it or not, just doing that simple thing improved it by alot. I'll see what further reviews come after uploading, and continue fixing the song from there.
Thanks for posting the review on here!

Decent work...

Good work. A catchy melody and brilliant drum work. Nice synth work and fantastic melodies. An overall brilliant job. However, chord progressions tended to get slightly repetitive and the ending was slightly too abrupt. What i suggest is that u make either a fade out outro, or end it with an interrupted cadence to leave the user hanging.

Fantastic...

There's not other way i can describe this besides simply amazing. I can scarcely find anything to criticise in this. Its simply great! What can i say? Blend is amazing, instruments are brilliant, melodies are varied and drumwork is fantastic. Some slight glitches in the intro but overall a great piece of work.

well thank you very much darklight, all these reviews were really helpful and appreciated :-)

Not bad...

Not a bad piece all round. Created a nice and creative background which was nicely overlayed by the main instruments. sadly, some notes were a bit dissonant. Drums did get a bit repetitive and background did not sound well with the melody in some parts. voices were slightly incomprehensibe.

Decent effort...

Not exactly house. Would've fit more under electro or industrial. However, its a fantastic piece. Amazing buildups and transitions. the intro was slightly wierd however although it provided a nice dark build up to the main melody. backgrounds were slightly repetitive however and ending was slightly abrupt.

That is very ture, it is always nice to have reviews, thanx a lot! I tried it under industrial (and obviously there is no electro section ;P) and they didn't think it fit there, but I personally agree with you.

Thanx for the review!

Nice work!

A brilliant and epic piece. Well done. Could've used more background namely using cellos and Double Basses as they are the key to every good epic song. However, you did a fantastic job of blending those other instruments together. As a musician i know how hard that can be. nice string work and i liked the use of timpani too. Ending was nice but slightly abrupt.

Thank you!

Not bad!

Not a bad job. Overall structure was great. Intro was slightly slow to start and the chord progressions werent as smooth as i would have liked. However, guitar quality wasnt bad and drums were fantastic and varied. Could've used a bit more humanizing. Ending was nice too.

Hey thanks man. Good luck with those reviews on the rest of the competition! =3

Not bad at all...

Now this is something amazing. Amazing intros set it off well, with a brilliant build up through the heavy kick and percussion.

Nice electronic intro which you then transitioned superbly into the calm part with the violin and those cool background instruments. What i didnt particularly like was the transition back into the kick part as it cut off too abruptly.

When the violins came back in, they blended fantasticly with the drums and if ud kept them on longer, it would have provided a nice set of variety. The outro anticlimax was very good too and ended the song brilliantly.

Overall, Nice work with the whole song but u could do with some minor adjustments.

djInTheDark responds:

Thanx dude, true on all accounts. Yeah I tried to extend the second build up of the pads but for some reason, it didn't really work. But I didn't extend it to the very end so that might be why.

Thanx again for the review!

Superb...

Yet another superb song by a superb artist. Catchy melodies, catchy drums, superb blend, amazing background depth and fantastic transitions.

Melodies reminded me of some of F-777's songs, namely ones like Silver Sword, Dark Crystal and Air Fantasy but they were still well thought out and put together. Drums were varied and brilliant with amazing samples and a fantastic use of kicks and snares.

Synths were simply amazing and the fact that you probably made all of them urself gained you some more points too. Blend and background depth are perfect and i therefore have nothing to say about them except well done! Outro and intro were brilliant too.

Overall, this is one simply amazing song, so i guess that, as yoda would say, "another ten from me you have" ;)

ErikMcClure responds:

Yes, I did make all the synths myself, along with some sample editing. Thanks :D
